"Catch 'Em All”: Judy’s Pokémon Adventures from the word “Go”

Judy found therapeutic relief through a popular mobile game. Pokemon Go (POGO) was launched in 2016 right after Judy lost her mother to cancer. When Judy's son downloaded the new game on to her mobile phone, Judy never imagined that she would be convening with other players of varying ages to battle in Raids or catch shinies during events. Was POGO a form of escapism or distraction from the death of her mom, or was it something else?

In this post, Judy discusses why she became addicted to POGO and how she came to terms with that addiction almost eight (8) years later.
